Using a Signature - Netscape Messenger 4.x

A Signature is a body of text that is automatically appended to each email message that you create. Typically this will consist of your name and title, although many people include a tag line.

Note: Before you can complete the steps to attach a signature to your emails, you must create it as a text file in a program such as Word Pad.

To create a signature:

  1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
  2. Click on Mail and Newsgroups.
  3. Select Identity.
  4. Next to the "Signature File" text box, click on the Choose button.
  5. Locate the text file that you have created and click on the Open button.
  6. Click OK.
  7. The next time you open Messenger, you will be prompted for your password one last time.

Note: A BlueLight Internet signature is added at the end of every email sent through BlueLight Internet.
