Error 17 - BlueLight Internet has encountered a problem and needs to close.

If you're receiving Error 17 or a message stating "BlueLight Internet has encountered a problem and needs to close," it could be due to a problem between the BlueLight Internet program and other programs running on your computer. To fix this, please follow the steps below:

A. Restart the BlueLight Internet program and try connecting again.

  1. Double-click the BlueLight Internet icon on your desktop.
  2. Type in your Member ID and password if they have not already been entered.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. You may be prompted to select your access numbers again. If so, make sure to type in a new name for your phone list (for example, type in 'HOME2') and continue setting up your access numbers.

B. Try rebooting your computer and launching BlueLight Internet again

Sometimes a simple reboot will fix the problem. To do this:

  1. Click the Start button and select Shut Down.
  2. Select Restart.
  3. Launch BlueLight Internet after Windows restarts.
  4. Type in your Member ID and password if they have not already been entered.
  5. Click Connect.
  6. You may be prompted to select your access numbers again. If so, make sure to type in a new name for your phone list (for example, type in 'HOME3') and continue setting up your access numbers.
