How do I Uninstall / Reinstall BlueLight Internet?

Important! Before uninstalling the BlueLight Internet software, please ensure that you have a copy of the software to reinstall, either on CD or the downloaded BLQSSetup.exe file.

  • If you have the latest version of the BlueLight Internet software, skip to Step B.
  • If you do not have the latest version of the BlueLight Internet software, complete the three steps below:

Step A. Download BlueLight Internet

  1. Download the latest version of BlueLight Internet by clicking the button below:



  2. On the File Download window, click OK.
  3. You will be asked to choose a directory. From the Save in drop-down menu, select Desktop so that the download file will be easy to locate.
  4. Once the download is complete, disconnect from BlueLight Internet.

Step B. Uninstall your current version of BlueLight Internet

    Note: You may want to write down your BlueLight Internet Member ID and password - you will need it to log on to BlueLight Internet again.
  1. Click on the Windows Start button, point to Settings and select Control Panel.
  2. Double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon.
  1. Click once on BlueLight Internet to highlight it and click on the Add/Remove button.
  2. Click OK then OK again and close the Control Panel.
  3. Click on the Windows Start button, point to Programs and select Windows Explorer.
  1. Double-click the Program Files folder in the left-side window.
  2. Click once on the BlueLight Internet folder to highlight it and press the Delete key on your keyboard to remove it.
  3. Close Windows Explorer.

Step C. Install the latest version of BlueLight Internet

  1. Double-click on the BLQSSetup.exe file you downloaded earlier, which should be on your Desktop if you saved it there. If you can't find the BLQSSetup.exe file, follow the steps in Appendix A below.
  2. Follow the on-screen installation instructions.

Your BlueLight Internet upgrade is now complete.


To locate the BLQSSetup.exe file using Windows 95/98, please follow the steps below.

  1. Click the Windows Start button, point to Find and select Files or Folders.
  1. In the Named field, type BLQSSetup.exe 
  2. Ensure that the Look in field indicates My Computer.
  3. Click on the Find now button.
  4. When the BLQSSetup.exe file is found, double-click on it to run the installation program.
  5. When the installation is complete, retry your BlueLight Internet connection.

Once the new installation has been completed, double-click the BlueLight icon on the desktop to connect.
